Introduce Global SMTP Smart Host Support in Eenos, allowing server administrators to route outgoing emails through an external SMTP relay provider instead of sending emails directly from the hosting server.

This feature will integrate with the existing Exim mail server and support popular SMTP relay providers such as Amazon SES, Mailgun, SendGrid, SMTP2GO, Brevo, Postmark, Mailjet, and custom SMTP servers.

Proposed Features

Global SMTP Smart Host: Allow root administrators to configure a single external SMTP relay for all outgoing emails from the server.

Multiple SMTP Providers: Support popular third-party SMTP providers through standard SMTP authentication, including custom SMTP servers.

SMTP Authentication and Encryption: Support authenticated SMTP connections using STARTTLS and implicit SSL/TLS.

Smart Host Management: Provide a configuration interface in the Eenos Web Administration Panel (WAP) to manage SMTP hostname, port, username, password, and encryption settings.

Connection Testing: Allow administrators to test SMTP connectivity, authentication, and email delivery.

Delivery Logging: Record SMTP relay connection errors, authentication failures, and delivery status through Exim's existing logging system.

Secure Credential Storage: Securely store SMTP credentials and restrict configuration access to root administrators.

Enable or Disable Smart Host: Allow administrators to switch between direct Exim email delivery and global SMTP Smart Host delivery.

Benefits

Improve outgoing email deliverability using established SMTP relay providers.

Reduce dependency on the hosting server's IP reputation.

Support hosting environments where outgoing SMTP port 25 is restricted.

Simplify external SMTP relay management through the Eenos control panel.

Provide secure and centralized outgoing email routing.

Expected Outcome

Enable Eenos root administrators to configure and manage a server-wide SMTP Smart Host directly from the WAP interface. All outgoing remote emails will be routed through the configured external SMTP provider while preserving existing local email delivery functionality.
