Add a comprehensive Mail Queue Manager to Eenos that allows server administrators to view, inspect, manage, and troubleshoot messages currently waiting in the mail server queue.
The Mail Queue Manager should provide a centralized interface for monitoring queued email messages and identifying delivery problems without requiring administrators to manage the queue entirely from the command line.
The interface should display useful information such as:
-
Message ID
-
Sender address
-
Recipient address
-
Message subject where available
-
Message size
-
Queue age
-
Delivery status
-
Number of delivery attempts
-
Last delivery attempt
-
Deferred or failure reason
-
Source IP or authenticated user where available
Administrators should be able to search and filter queued messages by sender, recipient, domain, message ID, queue age, delivery status, and failure reason.
The Mail Queue Manager should provide actions such as:
-
View message details
-
View message headers
-
View delivery logs and failure reasons
-
Retry delivery for an individual message
-
Retry delivery for selected messages
-
Retry the entire mail queue
-
Remove an individual message
-
Remove selected messages
-
Remove frozen or permanently failed messages
-
Search messages by sender or recipient domain
-
View queue statistics and total queued mail
Bulk actions should make it easier to manage large mail queues during delivery problems, spam incidents, remote server failures, DNS issues, or temporary network outages.
Where possible, the interface should clearly distinguish between queued, deferred, frozen, failed, and retrying messages so administrators can quickly identify delivery problems.
The Mail Queue Manager could also provide summary information such as the total number of queued messages, total queue size, oldest queued message, frozen message count, and domains with the highest number of pending deliveries.
Benefits
A Mail Queue Manager would make email administration easier and provide better visibility into mail delivery problems. Hosting administrators could quickly diagnose delayed or failed email, retry deliveries, remove unwanted messages, and manage large queues directly from the Eenos control panel.
This would reduce the need for manual Exim command-line operations and improve day-to-day mail server management.
