Status

planned

Add a comprehensive Audit Logs and Activity Logs system to Eenos to help administrators, resellers, and hosting users track important actions performed within the control panel.

The logging system should provide a clear history of account activity and administrative changes, making it easier to troubleshoot issues, investigate unauthorized actions, and maintain better security and accountability across the hosting environment.

The audit log should record important events such as:

  • User, reseller, and administrator logins and logouts

  • Failed login attempts

  • Account creation, suspension, unsuspension, and termination

  • Password changes

  • Package and resource limit changes

  • Domain, subdomain, and DNS changes

  • Email account creation, deletion, and configuration changes

  • Database creation, deletion, and user changes

  • FTP and SSH-related changes

  • SSL certificate installation and renewal activity

  • Backup creation, restoration, and deletion

  • File management operations where appropriate

  • Security and firewall configuration changes

  • Service configuration changes

  • API actions

  • Quick-login and SSO activity

  • Other important control panel configuration changes

Each log entry should include useful information such as the date and time, username, account type, IP address, action performed, affected resource, and result or status of the operation.

Administrators should be able to search and filter activity logs by user, reseller, domain, IP address, action type, date range, and event status.

Where applicable, resellers should only be able to view audit activity related to accounts under their ownership, while individual users should only have access to their own account activity.

The feature could also provide configurable log-retention periods and options to export logs for security auditing or external analysis.

Benefits

An Audit Logs and Activity Logs system would improve security, troubleshooting, accountability, and administrative visibility within Eenos. It would also help hosting providers investigate suspicious activity and understand exactly when important account or configuration changes were performed.
